  • Level 2 (4-5 years old)

Moving into our school aged dancers, we separate our classes into

  • Sub-Juniors (5-6 years old)
  • Juniors (7-9 years old)
  • Intermediates (10-12 years)
  • Pre-Seniors (13+ years)
  • Seniors/Senior Advanced (16+ years).

Our youngest dancers can join our newests program, Me and My Grown Up, at 6 months old, with our range reaching Adult HIIT Barre Classes.

In your child’s first class, you are welcome to sit in to watch the class and ensure they feel comfortable in the new and exciting environment. We want your child to be happy in class, knowing that Reflections Academy of Dance is a safe and secure place.

However, once your child is settled, we encourage you to step out of the room to allow them to grow and develop independently. It also can sometimes be confronting for other students to feel there are lots of unfamiliar faces watching them if we have parents watching.

Throughout the term, we have our Special Weeks celebrating a range of themes where some will include special viewings that will involve you coming in to view pieces they have been working on and or where we will open the curtains for you to see. We will notify you through social media posts and emails of when these will occur so you can be there. Our main events such as our mid year and end of year showcases are the best opportunities to see what your child has achieved over the terms.

Uniforms can be purchased from Reflections Academy of Dance, please see our office for assistance. For all styles (excluding ballet), Reflections merchandise can be mixed and matched including our T-Shirts, Singlets, Crop-Top, Shorts and Leggings.

A full list of uniform requirements can be found in the Information Pack found on your child’s Age Group page.

We recommend purchasing dance footwear from Energetiks, Fountain Gate Shopping Centre to ensure you purchase the correct items as they have our uniform list. If you do visit Energetiks, please let them know what classes your child does and that you are a Reflections Academy of Dance student.

Uniforms are compulsory for all of our students once they have enrolled into their classes. It is not essential to have everything by the first week or first class as we understand getting out to the dance shop can be a weekend interruption. We ask that you prioritise getting your child’s dance shoes first as this is a safety requirement. No socks are to be worn during classes to avoid injuries – we ask that your child is in bare feet if they do not have the correct footwear.

We follow the Victorian School Calendar with our year split into 4 terms all running for approximately 8-10 weeks. We do not run classes on public holidays which are automatically deducted from your Term fees. Please note that Term dates are subject to change.

Term 1: 28th January – 1st April

Term 2: 19th April – 27th June

Term 3: 12th July – 18th September

Term 4: 4th October – 11th December

After completing your FREE trial classes with us, please see our office staff to enrol your child into classes. Please note that some of our classes reach maximum capacity and waiting lists are available. However, we will do everything we can to ensure your child is happy and comfortable in their classes and the best suited their ability and needs.

We do not offer refunds for any missed classes, but are happy to seek make-up classes for your child, only if there is availability for them in a similar class. During Term 4, where your child is learning showcase routines, we are not able to offer make-up classes as they will be learning syllabus and choreography specific to that class.

Please contact us if you have any questions, concerns or wish to arrange a make up class so we can assist you the best way possible.

Please be aware that apart from Term Fees and Uniform expenses, extra charges that are compulsory for performances include:

Annual Enrolment Fee: $35.00 per student or $60.00 per family (must be enrolling more than 1 student at the same time)

Term 2: 1st costume deposit per class will be added to invoice ($35.00 per class)

Term 3: 2nd costume payment of $30.00 (subject to vary depending on costume and AUD)

Term 4: Theatre Rehearsal and Showcase Fee per student (includes onstage rehearsal, whole showcase production video and presentation medal)

Students are encouraged to commit to the full year of dance to gain the most out of their classes and gain the full experience of learning routines, working on technique, showcase rehearsals, costumes, showcase performances and so much more! However, we understand family commitments and holidays come up which we recommend to be scheduled during the term breaks. Our important dates/special weeks are listed below and can also be found in your child’s age group information pack.

Yes! Our highlights of the year include our 2 performance opportunities for your child – Midyear Showcase and End of Year Showcase. These dates are generally booked in a minimum of 6 months in advance and information packs are emailed out, posted on our social media groups and on our website events pages.

Our Midyear Showcase is a smaller showcase to demonstrate their achievements from the first semester of dance and to prepare students for the experience of our large End of Year Showcases that involve costumes, sets, themes and the big stage! Our Midyear showcase venue varies yearly but is often local at a school theatre in our community. Our End of Year Showcase is performed at Bunjil Place, Narre Warren.

If your child is not able to commit to these performances but wishes to still participate in classes, please notify their teacher(s) and our administration staff in the office.

All of our updates, information, newsletters and notices are sent out via email, posted in our social media group pages and often posted on our website.

Please also provide your most contactable email address and mobile phone number to our administration staff in the office.

Please ensure you thoroughly read through these messages to ensure you do not miss any important and valuable information regarding your child.
